Chicago Theater - III [Auditorium - Murals]

Sun God Apollo in his chariot..

Chicago Theater: Auditorium..
The auditorium has 3,550 seats..

The above image gives a good perspective of the theater.. The Sun God Apollo's mural, can be seen [to the right] on the proscenium arch.

I wish I knew what these murals represent.. That gives me a topic for research..

The murals were the inspiration and creative strokes of painter Louis Grell. Louie painted the 14 murals, including the large 55 foot Apollo allegorically themed center piece, in 1933. He actually painted murals inside there in 1921 also. The current ones, for the Chicago Theater renovation, were commissioned in 1932 for the Worlds Fair of 1933 and 1934.
