Site of St. Valentine Day Massacre..
Location: 2122 N Clark Street..
in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of north side Chicago..
The infamous Valentine Day massacre of February 14, 1929..
when seven members of the Bugs Moran gang were lined up against the rear inside wall of the garage of the SMC Cartage Company [2122 North Clark Street]. They were then shot and killed, supposedly by members of Al Capone gang.. Two of the shooters were dressed as Chicago police officers, and the others were dressed in long trench coats.
The garage, which stood at 2122 N. Clark Street, was demolished in 1967. The site is now a lot for a nursing home.
